ICE CREAM FOR SOUL

Last week I took my children to a restaurant. My six-year-old son asked if he could say grace.

As we bowed our heads he said, "God is good. God is great. Thank you for the food, and I would even thank you more if mom gets us ice cream for dessert. And Liberty and justice for all! Amen!"

Along with the laughter from the other customers nearby I heard a woman remark, "That's what's wrong with this country. Kids today don't even know how to pray. Asking God for ice-cream! Why, I never!"

Hearing this, my son burst into tears and asked me, "Did I do it wrong? Is God mad at me?"

As I held him and assured him that he had done a terrific job and God was certainly not mad at him, an elderly gentle man approached the table.

He winked at my son and said, "I happen to know that God thought that was a great prayer." "Really?" my son asked

"Cross my heart." Then in theatrical whisper he added (indicating the woman whose remark had started this whole thing), "Too bad she never asks God for ice cream. A little ice cream is good for the soul sometimes."

Naturally, I bought my kid's ice cream at the end of the meal. My son stared at this for a moment and then did something I will remember the rest of my life. He picked up his ice cream and without a word walked over and placed it in front of the woman. With a big smile he told her, Here, this is for you. Ice cream is good for the soul sometimes and my soul is good already."

Parable Of The Pencil - Pencil story

The Pencil Maker took the pencil aside, just before putting him into the box.

"There are 5 things you need to know," he told the pencil, "Before I send you out into the world. Always remember them and never forget, and you will become the best pencil you can be."

"One: You will be able to do many great things, but only if you allow yourself to be held in Someone's hand."

"Two: You will experience a painful sharpening from time to time, but you'll need it to become a better pencil."

"Three: You will be able to correct any mistakes you might make."

"Four: The most important part of you will always be what's inside."

"And Five: On every surface you are used on, you must leave your mark. No matter what the condition, you must continue to write."

The pencil understood and promised to remember, and went into the box with purpose in its heart.

Now replacing the place of the pencil with you.  Always remember them and never forget, and you will become the best person you can be.

One: You will be able to do many great things, but only if you allow yourself to be held in God's hand. And allow other human beings to access you for the many gifts you possess.

Two: You will experience a painful sharpening from time to time, by going through various problems in life, but you'll need it to become a stronger person.

Three: You will be able to correct any mistakes you might make.

Four: The most important part of you will always be what's on the inside.

And Five: On every surface you walk through, you must leave your mark. No matter what the situation, you must continue to do your duties.

Allow this parable on the pencil to encourage you to know that you are a special person and only you can fulfill the purpose to which you were born to accomplish.

Never allow yourself to get discouraged and think that your life is insignificant and cannot make a change.

Box Of Kisses!!!

The story goes that sometime ago, a man punished his 3-year old daughter for wasting a roll of gold wrapping paper. Money was tight and he became infuriated when the child tried to decorate a box to put under the Christmas tree.

Nevertheless, the little girl brought the gift to her father the next morning and said, "This is for you, Daddy."  He was embarrassed by his earlier over reaction, but his anger flared again when he found the box was empty.

He yelled at her, "Don't you know that when you give someone a present there's supposed to be something inside it?"

The little girl looked up at him with tears in her eyes and said, "Oh, Daddy it is not empty. I blew kisses into the box. All for you, daddy."

The father was crushed. He put his arms around his little girl, and begged for her forgiveness.

It is told that the man kept that gold box by his bed for years and whenever he was discouraged, he would take out an imaginary kiss and remember the love of the child who had put it there.

"In a very real sense, each of us as humans have been given a gold container filled with unconditional love and kisses from our children, friends, family and GOD. There is no more precious possession anyone could hold."

"You are my Sunshine"

An inspiring story...

One day, 3-year old Michael wished for a baby sister. So when his mother
got pregnant with a baby girl the little boy was delighted. Everyday, he'd rub his mother's tummy and  sing to his baby sister, "You are my sunshine, You are my sunshine, You make me happy when the stars are grey..."

But when the baby was born, there were complications. The baby was in critical condition.
Little Michael waited at home, wondering why his mother and his baby sister weren't  coming home yet.

A few days later, the doctor told the mother that the baby may not last long. The mother decided to bring Michael to the ICU and see his baby sister before she died.
She knew it was against he ICU rules, but she knew she had to do it. She brought in little Michael and let him stand beside his sister before she died.

That was when the head nurse saw Michael  and shouted, "Children are not allowed here!"

But before they could pull him out of the room, little Michael sang to his baby sister, "You are my sunshine, You are my sunshine, You make me happy when the stars are grey, You know dear how much I love you, please don't take my sunshine away... "

Immediately, the baby grew calm. Her heart rate which was abnormally fast, slowed down.

The Head Nurse noticed what was happening and said, "Little boy, whatever you're doing, keep doing it. Something is happening to the baby!"

Michael kept singing to his sister. And everyday, she got better.Until she got totally well.
Because little Michael used words of honor to bless his sister.

" Friend, you too can heal others. You have the power of God in your tongue.
Use your words to bless others."

ROCKS AND SAND

A philosophy professor stood before his class and had some items in front of him. When the class began, wordlessly he picked up a large empty glass jar and proceeded to fill it with rocks, rocks about 2" in diameter. He then asked the  students if the jar was full. They agreed that it was.

So the professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured them into the jar. He shook the jar lightly. The pebbles, of course rolled into the open areas between the rocks. He then asked the students again if the jar was full. They agreed it was. The students laughed. The professor picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar. Of course , the sand filled up everything else.

"Now, said the professor . I want you to recognize that this is your life. The rocks are the important things -- your family, your partner, your health, your children. Anything that is so important to you that if they were lost, you would be nearly destroyed."
"The  pebbles are the other things that matter like your job, your house, your car. The sand is everything else... the small stuff. If you put the sand into the jar first, there is no room for the pebbles or the rocks. The same goes for your life. If you spend all your energy and time on the small stuff. You will never have room for the things that are important to you."

"Pay attention to the things that are critical to your happiness. Play with your children. Take time to get medical checkups. Take your partner dancing. There will always be time to go to work, clean the house, give a dinner party, fix the disposal and etc."

Take care of the rocks first -- the things that really matter. Set your priorities. The rest is just pebbles and sand.

"So give time and show some love."

.....This is a very beautiful story to share to those  who are very busy with their jobs and don't have enough time to spend for their loved ones... Now if you are one of them ,  try to ask yourself, "To whom do you work for? "  Then try to reflect. " Time is so swift as the wind, there are so many things that would happen in an instant. You will never know what awaits you in the future. " So, spend your time sharing some love!!!
